In one of the most picturesque and delightful shores in the world, the Center of Lake Como, there are olive groves at the northern limit of the cultivation of the species. The first settlements were made by Greek slaves in the wake of the Romans and the particular mildness of the lake climate allowed the spread of the crop over a fairly large area.
It is therefore a culture full of traditions and the oil produced is always appreciated for its typicality, linked both to the latitude and to the presence of valuable cultivars such as Frantoio, an appreciation that also came from Queen Teodolinda who demanded it at her table. This ancient tradition is continued for hours in Lenno in the Vanini brothers' oil mill. The Vanini family has a long history of oil millers, which began in 1850.
